The Future of Online Learning in Wireless Networks (2034)

Image
Thoughts on the future of Learning Wireless Networks Predicting the future is tricky! Or to be more succinct Preparing for the future is tricky! Based on current trends and technological advancements, here's my glimpse of what online learning in my field of wireless networks will look like in 2034. The assignment was for 2033, but I chose 2034 as 10 years in the future.   Things I see we need to prepare for: Highly-interactive simulations: Advanced troubleshooting on real complex wireless networks with AI-powered "virtual clients" using real behaviors and real issues. Provide an immersive environment to apply theoretical knowledge and develop real-life troubleshooting skills. Gamified learning: Gamification elements like points, badges, and leader-boards will immerse Gen Z students into known competition elements.  They will be challenged to identifying and resolving network issues within the real-world simulations. Difficulty levels will increase just like a game as th...

LDT 523 -U2 WOL: Defining Online and Blended Learning

Two Types of Modern Learning: Online and Blended. I’m going to discuss my own experiences and perspectives about these two learning styles Online learning and blended learning.  I’m going to discuss what these terms mean, why they matter, and how they can shape the future of education. Brief Synopsis of what these two learning styles entail: Online learning: When I think of online learning, I think of a virtual classroom, one that contains pre-recorded lectures, quizzes, discussion boards and collaborative projects. Enabling students to learn at their own pace, accessing this material anytime, anywhere. Blended learning: Blended learning is really a combination of traditional classroom and online learning.  It’s a hybrid approach, combining online activities with face-to-face sessions. I’ve seen online modules cover foundational knowledge, while in-person sessions dig deeper with discussions, applications, and interaction with peers and the professor.   More detail on my...

LDT511 U6 - WOL - I'm Reevaluating the Curve

For my ASU Course LDT511 in Unit 6 we were asked to address where we were on Roger's Diffusion of Innovation Curve at the beginning of the semester and then after we spent the course studying about different types of Emergent technologies, reevaluate where we fell on that curve. I originally stated the following: “I believe I fall somewhere between the Innovator and Early Adopter, however for some topics I’m more in the Early Majority or even Late Majority stages of the Diffusion of Innovation Curve. I’m always looking at new or different technologies and trying to learn new approaches to save time, money and work for my designs, but I’m still really cautious about evaluating new technologies, looking at the impact.”.     I’m not sure my opinion of where I fall on the curve has changed a whole lot.  I still feel like many things are moving too fast.  With our conversation about Big Data and the research I did about how that impacts privacy, I still feel it should be...

LDT511 U1 WOL - Where am I ON THE CURVE???

W OL BLOG Entry for LDT 511: Unit 1:  We were asked to write about the following topic: Where you believe you fall on the Diffusion of Innovation Curve? Justify with examples. How does this impact your approach to learning design and technology? How your position on the curve might change as you gain more experience in the field Discuss strategies or steps you plan to take to build your knowledge, confidence, and the way you view new and emergent technologies. How understanding where you are on the curve can help you guide learning design and technological integrations effectively as a practitioner. My Position on the Diffusion of Innovation Curve   I believe I fall somewhere between the Innovator and Early Adopter, however for some topics I’m more in the Early Majority or even Late Majority stages of the Diffusion of Innovation Curve. I’m always looking at new or different technologies and trying to learn new approaches to save time, money and work for my designs, but I’m ...

LDT503 Unit 6 Final Project

Link to my Website: https://sites.google.com/asu.edu/timothycopley/tim-copley   Questions Asked about project What was the biggest design challenge in creating your website? How did you address/overcome it? How has your learning about design influenced the decisions you made in creating your website? How might you be able to use your professional website in the future?   Design Challenges I had 3 challenges creating my website. The user interface, visual appeal, and content organization. I wanted to create a website that was visually appealing but also wanted to make sure it was easy to use and navigate. I tried to address these challenges by using a simple, clean design with plenty of white space. I also made sure to use clear and concise language. I conducted usability testing, gathering feedback from peer reviews and asking some colleagues to look at the website. I had many different iterations on the design based on these recommendations. Employing a ...
