Questions Asked about project

  • What was the biggest design challenge in creating your website? How did you address/overcome it?
  • How has your learning about design influenced the decisions you made in creating your website?
  • How might you be able to use your professional website in the future?

Design Challenges

I had 3 challenges creating my website. The user interface, visual appeal, and content
organization. I wanted to create a website that was visually appealing but also wanted to make
sure it was easy to use and navigate. I tried to address these challenges by using a simple,
clean design with plenty of white space. I also made sure to use clear and concise language. I
conducted usability testing, gathering feedback from peer reviews and asking some colleagues
to look at the website. I had many different iterations on the design based on these
recommendations. Employing a consistent color scheme, typography, and visual elements to
enhance the website's visual appeal.

Learning Influenced

My learning about design has drastically influenced the decisions I made in creating the website
in a number of ways. First, I learned the importance of using typography effectively. Using a
similar set of fonts and sizes to create a visually appealing website. Second, I used the
importance of color psychology to choose colors that would be appealing. Third, I tried to use
whitespace effectively. White space helps to create a sense of order and hierarchy on a website.
I kept in mind typography to create a hierarchy of information, with the most important
information being prominently displayed right on the title bar.

Use in the Future

I believe my professional website will be a valuable asset in the future. I can use it to showcase
some of my work, to network and find potential career opportunities with collaborators or
employers. I can also use it to provide professional identity by adding credibility and providing
information about myself, to answer questions, and to provide contact information. The other
big item I think it will provide is thought Leadership: A website can be used to share knowledge,
insights, and opinions, establishing myself as a thought leader in my field.
